Voltage and Pulse Endurance Test of New Generation wire CORONA - RTM developed

Inverters are commonly used in various motor applications. This greatly increases the pulse endurance stress of the wire due to switching transience. A new type of wire with two layers & three layers of Corona resistant material has been developed by BCwire® to overcome the aforementioned problem. This paper will give a brief introduction of the wire, detailed test procedure, and preliminary results compared with traditional insulation wires. The aim of this paper is to give users a better understanding of this new type of wire and supply sufficient information for wire selection. I. NOMENCLATURE Wire of different insulation materials will be introduced here: The wire with name PE(I)/PAIis with two insulation layers with Polyamideimide in the outer layer and a modified Polyester in the inner layer coated on the conductor. NEMA MW35. The new wire developed by BCwire® with name MPE/CR/PAI is with three insulation layers. The outer layer is Polyamideimide, the middle is a Corona Resistant Enamel, and the inner layer is a Modified Polyester all coated on the inductor. Polyamideimide in the outer layer (Corona Resistant Enamel) and in the inner layer a modified Polyester coating on the conductor. With the new application of nanotechnology in MPE/PAI-CR, the outer layer with corona resistant enamel has a partied size distribution D[v,0.10] (microns)=0.09, the wire flex properties (20% snap) 3x compare the old design 20% 5x has been much improved. The aforementioned two wires by BCwire® feature Nanotechnology in the Basecoat or Topcoat and can be substituted for either MW35 or MW37 & most MEMA standards. I
